Checkout Plus offers powerful features for both standard Shopify plans and Shopify Plus stores. While Shopify Plus is required for certain customizations that appear directly inside the checkout, many Checkout Plus features are available without Shopify Plus.
What can I do without Shopify Plus?
Stores on standard Shopify plans can still use Checkout Plus to customize important parts of the checkout and post-purchase experience.
Depending on your Checkout Plus plan, this can include:
Payment Customizations
Customize how payment methods are displayed at checkout. Create rules to hide, rename, or reorder payment methods based on your store’s needs.
Shipping & Delivery Customizations
Control how shipping and delivery options appear to customers. Create rules to hide, rename, or reorder available delivery methods.
Order Validations
Create validation rules that prevent customers from completing checkout when an order doesn’t meet your requirements. For example, you can create rules based on products, quantities, order details, or other supported conditions.
Post-Purchase Page
The Post-Purchase Page is shown immediately after a customer completes checkout and before they reach the Thank You page.
Checkout Plus allows you to use this page to recommend additional products after the initial purchase has already been completed. This creates an opportunity to increase average order value (AOV) without adding extra steps or distractions to the customer’s original checkout experience.
Because the initial order has already been placed, post-purchase offers allow you to focus on increasing the value of an order without introducing additional friction before the initial conversion.
Thank You & Order Status Pages
Customize supported areas of the customer experience after an order has been placed, including the Thank You and Order Status pages.
What requires Shopify Plus?
Shopify restricts certain customizations that appear directly within the checkout pages to Shopify Plus stores.
This includes Checkout Plus features that use Shopify’s checkout UI extensions to add content or functionality directly to the checkout experience.
If a Checkout Plus feature requires Shopify Plus, this will be indicated within the app so you can easily see which features are available for your store.
Do I need Shopify Plus to get value from Checkout Plus?
No. Checkout Plus provides functionality for both standard Shopify stores and Shopify Plus stores.
Standard Shopify merchants can use features such as Payment Customizations, Shipping & Delivery Customizations, Order Validations, Post-Purchase offers, and supported Thank You and Order Status page customizations.
